Having some fun with your pennies is a rare delight.
A fun, cheap and always cool souvenir idea is to collect squished coins? That’s right…squished pennies. Now, there are many ways of accomplishing this but one of the ways I prefer is to find a penny-pressing machine in a tourist shop. Nothing is cooler than seeing the look unto your kids face after hand-cranking the wheel which will then flattened the copper material stamped with an image of the town or place we are visiting.
We even have a small holder in which we place all the coins we have accumulated along the years, from all over Canada and the US. By the way, it is perfectly legal to press pennies in North America, but you just can’t use them as legal tender afterwards. So here you go, next time you are out on the town look out for one those press…it’s an activity you and your kids will enjoy greatly.
